seminar / round table “heritage as economic resource: revitalisation, tourism, development”
On December 6th, 2013 from 10:00-14:00 Seminar / Round Table “Heritage as economic resource: revitalisation, tourism, development” will take place at the Rectorate Building of the University of Zagreb (Trg maršala Tita 14, Zagreb, Croatia). Study day tour to the Ravni kotari area and the city of Zadar will be organized on December 7th.
Two days seminar addresses topic of heritage management where possible uses and misuses of heritage as economic resource will be challenged. Relations concerning heritage and (sustainable) development, revitalisation and cooperation with tourism sector will be addressed among others where presentations will foremost focus on selected heritage projects – case studies which represent ‘best practices’. International and local/regional participants are invited to offer their inputs by lectures and through discussion.

International heritage seminar “Heritage as economic resource: revitalisation, tourism, development” is organized by University of Zagreb (Sub-department of Museology and Heritage Management & Department of History, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences) within EU funded project ‘Jankovic Castle: historic site, generating sustainable development of the Ravni Kotari region’ and it is realised in assistance with: the International Foundation-Forum of Slavic Cultures, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and ICOM Croatia.

On Friday June 7th seminar „Heritage as Knowledge Resource“ will be held in the hall of the Rectorate of the University of Zagreb. Main topic of this seminar will be modern understanding of heritage.
